Lions Dave Brough & Tony Lorimer took part in The 30th Annual Napton Cycle Ride – a leisurely stroll on bicycle through 18 miles of Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire countryside. It takes in 3 pubs, an ice cream stop and Claydon Church Hall for ice creams and tea /coffee. There were refreshments provided on the way round, and tea on arrival back at the village green.

It was easily suitable for 7 year olds and over, with the less energetic able to double back at the middle of a figure of 8 track, doing only 9 miles instead of the full 18.

The village was closed to traffic for the start of the ride. Registration starts at 10.00 am. The 350 or more cyclists left the green at 11.30 (prompt), reaching the The Plough Inn in Upper Boddington just in time for opening time.

The Carpenter’s Arms is not far away, with the Holly Bush supporting those who need even more liquid refreshment. In between in Claydon, refreshments and ices were on sale at the Parish Rooms.

The final stop was the Crown Inn on Napton Village Green and they provided a barbecue for everyone who didn’tt want to cook their own on the grills provided on the green.

At 6.30 pm, the Ceilidh took us into an idyllic country evening of music and dance lasting until 9.30 pm

Plenty of money was raised of everyones efforts.

We have a been building up quite a following down at the Graham Adams Centre (GAC) on the first Friday of each month. Here we show films that are only just available to us after they have done there best at the proper cinema – even before they hit the DVD market in some cases.

We show mainly children’s films, from PG to 12a ratings – and occasionally, when a truly great film is available, we show 15′s and even 18′s (although this market has yet to be tested).

We would like to thank all those kind people who have partronised our cinema in the past and hope that they spread the good word to those yet to enjoy our services.

And if free parking and easy access weren’t enough of a reason to pop along, maybe the ‘kitchen’ staff could tempt you with all the tea’s, coffee’s, canned drinks, sweets, chocolate and biscuits might?
